- Distant binary stars may also form; in these systems one of the planets is
- replaced by a star. Their orbits are shown as red arcs, to distinguish them
- from the world types.
-
- The generation procedure (option "G" from the main menu) produces these
- results; the sort of data that could be obtained by long-range observation.
- It's fairly fast. If the solar systems that are produced look boring,
- run this procedure again until you are satisfied.
-
- Once you have a sector you like, choose the "save" option (menu choice "S").
- You'll be asked for a file name; type in a maximum of eight letters, preceded
- by the drive letter if you're not using the default drive. If you don't enter
- a name, the program will use the file name "UNNAMED". Menu option "L" reloads
- saved sectors. It also uses the default "UNNAMED" if you don't enter a file
- name, and looks for a documentation file with the same first name (for
- example, SAMPLE.DOC for SAMPLE.SEC). Text files must be no more than 23 lines,
- 78 columns, eg Sidekick files.
-
- Menu option "V" lets you take a look at your sector, using cursor keys to move
- between systems and ENTER to exit. This option still only produces the sort of
- data that might be obtained by long-range observation.
